About Us
About Pride Entertainment: Under the aegis of Pride Entertainment Features, we have been proudly supplying entertainment articles, interviews and entertainment reviews to the publications of the GLTB comunity of Long Island since 1996. Begun as a freelance service to Long Island GLTB publications, PEF has finally, after many years, evolved into this website. P.E.F. has supplied articles of interest to many of Long Island's best GLBT publications. These publications include or have included the print editions of The LI Pride Press, The Metro Pride Press, Outlook-Long Island and The Rainbow Community News. We are proud to have been part of the growing Long Island GLBT community during these past 10 years ... and we look forward to what these next 10 years can bring! About the Publisher:
Rob Jackson resides in Hampton Bays, New York [on the east end of Long Island] As you could assume, Jackson loves music, movies, television and almost all other forms of entertainment. With eclectic tastes in music ranging from classical to country; from Pop to show music; from dance to rock and from R&b to Hip-hop; he's even been known to listen to heavy metal and Christian music every once in a while. However, if you want to see your project reviewed on PrideEntertainment.net, we ask that you be open-minded in regards to people of all sexualities, persuasions and identifications. Pride Entertainment has from time to time rejected interview requests and project reviews from viciously homophobic and sexist artists and entertainers. Community Activities & Ideologies: Rob Jackson identifies as a liberal Democrat and a feminist, and respects the fact that there can be rather GLBT-friendly Republicans out there ... Having seen & heard them, he knows they exist! Jackson has been active as a community activist, having been involved in the Stonewall 25 Committee, Community House of Long Island, The Long Island Center, PWAC-LI (People With AIDS Coalition of Long Island), Gay & Lesbian Friends of Sullivan County, and MTV's Rock The Vote Voter Registration Campaign, among others. He is also the founder of The Compassion Project of Long Island. The Compassion Project is a way that we can encourage television to include HIV and GLBT characters in their storylines.
